Our History

Roma Caravans is one of the oldest established caravan manufacturers in Australia. The first Roma was built in 1928 and we have been building them in Australia ever since. We have many years of caravan building experience from the directors, the staff and the next generation of family that is working within Roma.

The brand has changed through the years, but is currently in the hands of two directors that have long been creating and building Roma caravans. Both Tony Palmarini and Jack Conticello have been building Roma's for around 50 years. Tony's late father Vittorio Palmarini started building Roma's in the early 50's with Tony joining his father in the early 60's. Soon after Jack joined the company and now the next generation has joined Roma. Brendan and Mark Palmarini, and Adam Conticello have been working in different areas of the firm, as the company has grown.

There is now much more involved in building a caravan than there was say 20 years ago. There are many more components that go into a caravan build as well as keeping up with technological advances.

Roma is constantly evolving to meet market demands. Customers are now much more informed and included in the build process than ever before. Their customization is at a higher level and we continue to develop our product to keep up with the needs of today's "grey nomad". Where customers previously relied on caravan parks for their needs, such as power, water and amenities, we find today's traveller prefers to be independent. They require a product that is self-sufficient for several days or weeks so they can travel to more remote places, or stop anywhere along the way.
